Tamara’s video and challenge can be found here.

When I started the video, I was a little nervous. I pray a lot, and I trust God, but I’m still very afraid of losing my wife. Working with so many sick people at my job, I thank God every day that my wife and I are healthy and prosperous by the world’s standards. I’d like to think that I would have the courage that Tamara demonstrates, but it’s hard to know until you’re in that position.

For her to be there, and to find peace that quickly; is a testament to her faith, and Gods love. We all know that one day we’ll be going home. It’s hard to think about, even though as Christians we know that this world isn’t meant for us. Just a great video to show people Gods peace in Tamara’s life.

The challenge was also one that I really liked. It was to make a list of things that you love about God, and thank Him, to thank the people in your life, and to make today a day of general thankfulness.

Hmm – didnt play on my phone.

Sounds like a tough/good video. Definitely makes you thankful.

Just yesterday a 4th grader at Granville lost his mom in a car accident and almost his dad (his dad is in the hospital). It’s tough to think about going to school one day saying bye to your parents and coming home to a whole new, challenging life. Pray for that family.

…Definitely makes you thankful for what you have.

It’s one thing to say that you have faith and that you trust God to take care of you, but when something like this happens I think your faith is challenged at a much deeper level. I think it’s very inspiring that rather than spiraling into a deep depression Tamara instead felt peace when she received the bad news. If we can put all our worries, fears and insecurities on God, he can guide us through anything we may encounter throughout our lives. I pray that when I do encounter those tough times in life that my faith is able to guide me through.

  3. CJNeading says:

Something I almost can’t even watch. Not so much because of a fear of dying but for my wife and daughter. As husband and father you want to protect them from any pain. And like he said working on the healthcare industry you see alot of awful things. Alot of which you can’t stop. A little over played at times but I always go to these lyrics when I’m looking for the peace she talks about….

And if our God is for us, then who could ever stop us.
And if our God is with us, then what could stand against.
